Linlithgow Rugby’s clubhouse was bursting at the seams last Sunday with a mini tournament in the morning with hundreds of kids full of energy, followed by a veterans match between an Italian visiting club, from Jesi on the Adriatic, and the Linlithgow Peelers all of whom had less energy, but were intent on sampling the robust, fine wine the Italians had thoughtfully brought along. [The Peelers won the game but the Italians won the singing] Everybody then went out to watch the Linlithgow 1st XV take on and win well against National League 1 club Berwick in the 1st round of the SHE Shield.
This was a multi-national festival, as in addition to visiting minis from Kinross and Livingston, there was a P7 team from Colwyn Bay in Wales. Technically, Berwick is in England and certainly Jesi is in Italy, so four nations were on show!

Goudie takes the ball from Les who takes the hit - Les was later to move out
from flanker to centre, when Goudie tweaked his hammy
Les, now at centre, proved too hot to handle for the Berwick defence, powering
